javier piñango

Javier Piñango (Madrid, 1962), director of the international experimental music festival
Experimentaclub (2000-2010) and the diffusion and promotion project of experimental music which goes by the same name. He has been working for the last 30 years in the Spanish avantgarde sound scene tackling it from all the available angles: as artist, cultural programmer, creator of music labels, music journalist, etc. As musician, Javier Piñango works solo under the generic title i.r.real since 2010. His work is strongly based in noisy/silence mutations, shock and sound overlays applied to an ever-changing passage with the tension as narrative element. Actually i.r.real is assembled through an exploration of the sonic boundaries of a Korg MS-20 analog synth. This is the culmination of a long process in which the synthesizer takes possession of the whole i.r.real concept... He also collaborates frequently with other musicians in projects of free improvisation and fusion of analógica la and digital elements
